No Time To Die, Venom 2, The Many Saints of Newark, The Guilty, and several other films and TV series are making their debut this weekend; here are 10 worth watching.
If for no other reason at all, this weekend is an exciting one because one of the most anticipated films of the last two years is finally in the cinema in the UK and some other countries. The final appearance of Daniel Craig as 007 is finally here, and there is no time to sleep on it. What else is on deck this weekend in film and TV entertainment, you ask. I’ll show you.
1. No Time To Die
No Time to Die is a 2021 spy film and the 25th in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions. In this instalment, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology. The film stars Daniel Craig and other usual suspects like Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes, alongside Rami Malek as the villain. No Time To Die is alive in cinemas in UK, Nigeria this weekend.

2. The Many Saints of Newark
The Many Saints of Newark (marketed with the subtitle A Sopranos Story) is a 2021 American crime drama film. As the story goes, Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities—and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano. The film has a star cast of Michael Gandolfini, Corey Stoll, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, and Ray Liotta. It debuts in cinemas today, 1 October.
3. Venom 2 or Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a 2021 American superhero film and a sequel to Venom (2018). It features the Marvel Comics character Venom in a more even fight against a red symbiote named Carnage. The hosts — Eddie Brook and Cletus Kasady — also have history. Venom: Let There Be Carnage was released in London on 14 September while it became available in the US today, 1 October. Some other parts of the world will not get their hands on the movie until 15 October 2021.
4. MAID (Season 1)

MAID is an American comedy-drama streaming television series inspired by Stephanie Land’s memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will To Survive. The series follows the story of Alex, a single mother who turns to housecleaning to — barely — make ends meet as she escapes an abusive relationship and overcomes homelessness to create a better life for her daughter, Maddy. MAID makes its debut on Netflix today.
5. Old Henry
Old Henry is a 2021 American Western film written and directed by Potsy Ponciroli. It stars Tim Blake Nelson, Scott Haze, Gavin Lewis, and then some. A quiet man and his son take in a wounded stranger near his homestead, along with a bag full of cash. The stranger claims he’s a sheriff being pursued by outlaws, but the man can’t be sure. Old Henry enters cinemas anew today 1 October.
