The total number of confirmed cases in the country has now gone up to 4399, the NCDC reported on its verified Twitter handle during its daily live updates.
The spread of the virus has grown rapidly since it was first announced in Nigeria in February 2020, only a few months after the outbreak started in Wuhan, China.
The NCDC also reported an error in reporting. On 9 May, NCDC wrongly reported 32 discharged cases and two deaths in Abuja, instead of the correct figures which are actually 13 discharged cases and two deaths.
This brings the total number of active cases in Nigeria to 3478 with 778 discharged and 143 deaths. The breakdown per state is as follows:
81 in Lagos, 35 in Jigawa, 26 in Borno, 26 in Kano, 20 in Bauchi, 13 in FCT, 12 in Edo, 10 in Sokoto, seven in Zamfara, four in Kwara, four in Kebbi, two in Gombe, two in Taraba, two in Ogun, two in Ekiti, one in Osun, and one in Bayelsa.
