The plight that African migrants seeking greener pastures in foreign countries pass through has transcended death at sea as journalists working for CNN released shocking video footage that showed auction going on in a market where young men from sub-Saharan countries were being sold like pieces of art. International outrage had risen in the wake of the video with the Libyan government vowing to partner with the UN to put an end to this trade and many celebrities have come out to denounce the act. Chris Brown had voiced his concern on the seemingly less social media activity on the matter. He was quoted as writing on his social media page; “when France got bombed i see the entire fb saying pray for France, when Manchester got bomb i see the same. When Texas was flooding everyone was saying pray for Texas, but this slave trade is currently going on in Libya and we don’t see it all over social media.. smh.”

The modern case of slavery is as painful as anything can get and the authorities are appealing to citizens to ignore offers of job from countries with no clear directives as to visas and passports. But will conditions on ground allow people stay at home?
