Nigeria’s Super Eagles supporters will be encouraged and hopeful of seeing Crystal Palace‘s new boy Eberechi Eze don the country’s green-and-white jersey in the nearest future, after he revealed that he could still represent his parent’s country of origin.
While playing for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship last year, the 22-year-old asked to be allowed more time to make a decision on his International future while focusing fully on his club football endeavours. At the time, Eze had engaged in a discussion with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, about switching allegiance to play for Nigeria.
Eze won three caps for England U20s before turning out for the U21 squad, where he has won three competitive caps in the European U21 qualifiers against Albania, Andorra and Turkey.
The London born and bred winger has said he is completely focused on doing well for the England U21 team at the moment, but he has also hinted at his desire to possibly represent Nigeria at senior international level.
