The Latin Grammys 2021 was held in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Thursday, 18 November. The Latin Recording Academy considered Latin music released between 1 June 2020 and 31 May 2021, eligible for awards in about 50 different categories.
Hosting duties fell to Puerto Rican singer Roselyn Sánchez, American actress/singer Ana Brenda Contreras and Mexican musician Carlos Rivera. Meanwhile, the audience got to see Christina Aguilera perform the live debut of her songs “Pa Mis Muchachas” and “Somos Nada,” alongside Becky G, Nicki Nicole, and Nathy Peluso. Gloria Estefan, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Rubén Blades, and C. Tangana were among the many performers with Carlos Rivera, Nella, and Paula Arenas also performing “Esta Tarde Vi Llover” and “Todavía,” in tribute to Mexican Mayan singer Armando Manzanero.
The award ceremony saw 31-year-old Mexican songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera - who won producer of the year - win three awards. However, the biggest winners were Camilo and Juan Luis Guerra, as they each carted away four awards.
