De Gea has responded to critics who say he performs well for Manchester United but never for his country after a below-par World Cup performance.
The Spanish keeper put up a stellar performance against England making two magnificent saves and having an all-around good game.
The 27-year-old touched the ball 41 times and completed 75 percent of his passes while coming under massive pressure from the English attacking line.
Coach Luis Enrique revealed that he never lost confidence in the shot-stopper:

“He is the best in the world and a top goalkeeper, one who I totally trust in and who I never doubted,” the new coach said of the 27-year-old.
De Gea has in fact been so good that he was voted the best goalkeeper of last season’s Premier League and has won his club’s player of the year award on four occasions since his 2011 arrival.
His aim now will be to impress in all of Spain’s future fixtures in order to earn the respect of the Spanish supporters.
