The Queen invites Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to annual commonwealth service

In March, the annual Commonwealth service will be held in London, and Queen Elizabeth has asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to attend with the rest of the royals.

Government representatives of the 53 member nations will gather at Westminster Abbey for the one-hour event on 9 March, and the Queen has requested the Sussexes presence, according to The Sunday Times.

They will attend the event as the president and the vice-president of the Queen’s commonwealth trust. The event is part of the few they will attend before completing quitting royal life.

Last year, a heavily pregnant Meghan attended the event with Harry, amidst attacks from the UK media. This year, the couple will fly in from Canada to attend.

This is coming after Harry and Meghan gave a speech at a JP Morgan event in America, which reportedly earned them one million dollars.

Recall that just over a month ago, Harry and Meghan made a shock announcement to the World revealing that they would be stepping down from their senior roles in the royal family.

Their announcement was followed by weeks of negotiation which ended with the couple losing their HRH titles, Harry losing his title in the military, and them having to repay the money they received to renovate their UK home, Frogmore Cottage.

Since then, the couple has taken on projects, with Meghan signing a deal with Disney. The Queen is reportedly unfazed by their money-making activities, however, reportedly telling friends, “If that’s what they want—if they want to go—we must let them go.”
