Songwriters sue Rihanna for Fenty copyright infringement ad

Father-daughter music duo King Khan and Saba Lou are suing Rihanna and Fenty over copyright infringement in an ad.

TMZ reports that King Khan and Saba Lou filed a case against Rihanna and Fenty over copyright infringement. Fenty, owned by Rihanna, had posted a social media advert using sounds from the song “Good Habits (and Bad)”.

According to the lawsuit, the song’s owners had not given their legal permission to the cosmetics and fashion company. The implicating advert on Fenty’s Instagram page had garnered over 3.4 million views as of the time this was published.

“Good Habits (and Bad)” originally appeared on Saba Lou’s 2012 7-inch release “Until the End”. The duo is saying that Fenty likely got the song illegally from a music streaming platform.

King Khan and his daughter are suing Rihanna and Fenty for damages and also want an injunction that blocks the company from using the song again.

Meanwhile, Rihanna and Fenty have not issued any official statement on the copyright infringement matter.
