American professional tennis player, Serena Williams, has set a record in the latest richest self-made women list released by Forbes on Tuesday.
Serena made history by becoming the first athlete to make Forbes’ list of the World’s Richest Self-Made Women. According to Forbes, the 23 times Glam Slam winner has a net worth of $225m earning her a spot in the list. Serena ranks number 80 in the list.
The mother of one took to Instagram to share the news, uploading a Forbes’ cover image bearing her face. “Be the brand,” she writes as a caption of the image. “Starting @Serena and @Serena.Ventures are just a few steps. Honored to be the first athlete on Forbes Self Made Women list,” the caption adds.

The top spot on the list is claimed by Diane Hendricks, the 72-year-old chairman of ABC Supply. Hendricks has a reported net fortune of $7 billion, Forbes reported.
Meg Whitman, the current CEO of Quibi and former eBay CEO, took the No. 2 spot with a net worth of $3.8 billion.
Little Caesars Pizza cofounder, Marian Ilitch, Epic Systems CEO, Judy Faulkner and Thai Lee, the CEO of IT provider, SHI International, also made it to the top 5 of Forbes’ most successful self-made billionaires.
Kylie Jenner ranked 23 on the list and is among the 25 billionaires named.
