Naira Marley was back in court yesterday, 23 October, and the EFCC claim to have him by the neck.

At the singer’s renewed trial, the EFCC tendered documents they found on his laptop, including stolen credit card information from several American, Latin, and European banks.

The credit cards reportedly belong to four people including one Nicole Louis.

An EFCC forensics expert, Mr. Nuru Buhari also testified in court, reportedly saying that additional files had been found on his laptop with information on credit cards that allow holders to conduct transactions without their physical cards.

In addition, Mr. Buhari also reportedly said in court that the top-visited sites on the singer’s laptop were sites for buying and selling credit card information.

Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Fashola is being prosecuted by the EFCC on 11 counts of fraud, conspiracy, and possession of counterfeit cards.

His co-defendant, one Yad Isril is said to still be at large.

Naira Marley pleaded not guilty to the charges when he was arraigned on May 20, 2019, after which he secured bail with two million Naira and two sureties in like sum.

According to the EFCC, the singer committed the crimes on different dates spanning November 2018 to May 2019.
