Darey Art Alade explains why he brought Kim Kardashian to Nigeria

In 2013, the announcement of Kim’s visit to Nigeria created a lot of mixed feelings from Nigerians. However, her short-lived attendance triggered lots of angry reactions on social media.

At the ongoing Nigerian Entertainment Conference, Darey said Kim was brought to Nigeria for people to talk. He stated that her presence created buzz for the event, and that was what he wanted.

Darey also emphasised on the need for artists to understand the business side of their talents.

“Being different needs to be your unique selling point. A lot of artists don’t know the business side of creativity. More artists need to be more responsible for how their creativity turns out.

“It’s okay to say you are making your music because you feel it, but business education for artists is important.”
