Phil Hartman
He was a Canadian-American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and graphic designer. Born in 1948, Hartman only achieved fame in the late 1980s as a long-time performer of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Before his international fame, Hartman made money when he left college by designing album covers for bands including country-rock bands Poco and America. In 1975, he became a part of the comedy group The Groundlings, and was instrumental in developing Paul Reubens’ Pee-wee Herman character. He notably co-wrote the 1985 comedy film “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” and appeared regularly as Captain Carl on Reubens’s show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse”.
From 1986 to 1994, Hartman performed on eight seasons of Saturday Night Live. He even won a Primetime Emmy Award for his SNL work in 1989. In addition to this, he voiced various characters on “The Simpsons”, and had minor roles in the films “Houseguest” (1995), “Sgt. Bilko” (1996), “Jingle All the Way” (1996), and “Small Soldiers” (1998).
Brynn Hartman (nee Omdahl)

She was born Vicki Jo Omdahl but went with Brynn professionally. She had minor roles in both film and television productions. In 1994, she played a waitress in the comedy-drama adventure film “North”, starring Elijah Wood, Graham Greene, Jon Lovitz, Bruce Willis, and others. Also, she was cast as a Venusian in the 1996 American sitcom television series “3rd Rock from the Sun”.
Brynn Hartman worked briefly as a Catalina swimsuit model. She met Phil Hartman through her job as a model, and they were married in 1987.
Phil Hartman death
On 28 May 1998, Brynn Hartman killed her husband, Phil, in his sleep. She shot him three times; once between the eyes, once in the throat, and once in the upper chest, according to an archived People article. The incident is believed to have happened between 2 am and 3 am. After fatally shooting her husband, Brynn drove to her friend Ron Douglas’ house to confess.
Initially, Douglas did not believe her and drove back with her to the house, according to CNN. However, when he saw the body with his own eyes, he called the police. Douglas had likely informed them that Sean Edward Hartman and his sister Birgen Hartman, as she was known then, were in the house. This explains why they first went to get the children to safety.
While doing this, Brynn Hartman went into the bedroom, locked herself in, picked another gun, and killed herself. The murder/suicide case drew the attention of media houses from all over the world.
