Maryum Ali was born to her celebrity parents in Chicago, USA, on 18 June 1968 and raised in Chicago by her father, Mohammed Ali, and her mother, Khalilah Ali. She has twin sisters, namely Rasheda and Jamillah, and a brother, Muhammad Ali Jr.
Maryum had her studies in a local high school, where she was a member of the school’s drama club; she enrolled in 1986. She picked interest in acting and comedy while attending the local elementary school and eventually became interested in music.

Maryum grew up with the desire to be of immense help to people. Her response to her father each time he asked her what her purpose in life was, she would reply, “I want to help people.”
However, after schooling, she became a stand-up comedian and had performances around the US spanning about ten years. In her early 20s, she launched her rapping career when she released her debut album, The Introduction, after which she signed into Scottie Bros Records.
However, when the rap industry became a toxic field for females due to the exploitation and violence of the female gender, Maryum waved rapping goodbye and changed her profession.
She now works in the area of Juvenile Delinquency prevention for over two decades. She is the Los Angeles’ regional manager for the Mayor’s Office of Gang Reduction & Youth Development, a program director, and a case manager.
Maryum is also well known for her philanthropy and has contributed to the Parkinson Alliance for many years now.

Sometime in 2014, Maryum starred in a short documentary film, Room 19, and made appearances as a guest on talk shows like Politics Nation with Al Sharpton, The Queen Latifah Show, and Entertainment Tonight.
