The family of the Asta, the serving police officer, that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris was accused of having impregnated has stated that Idris married their daughter in a public mosque.
Recall that we brought you a report that the Senator Isah Hamman Misau representing Bauchi Central had accused the IGP of contravening the Police act by having a sexual relationship with a serving policewomen, Asta, who he later secretly married last month because Asta was then four months pregnant with the IGP’s child.
Well, now the lady’s family is totally pissed off with the allegation according to Daily Trust, which reported that a family member spoke to them on the issue on a telephone.
“Truly, we’re seriously angry, because this is a girl that grew up in a responsible way. She got a very good upbringing, and we married her out peacefully. We see no reason why this man will come publicly inside the chamber of the Senate to say the man impregnated her before he married her,” the family member reportedly told Daily Trust.
And from the sound of it, it looks like a lawsuit is in the offing. Think: Character assassination.
“We’ll have to sue him for defamation of character of the girl and the family. We’ll do that within the week. We’ll file the matter, and we’ll go with all the evidence, including invitation cards and everything,”
