So far, only one case has been reported as positive in Nigeria, although authorities are still on the look out, trying to identify people who may have come in contact with the Italian.
In Tunisia and Algeria, cases were recorded in people who travelled to the country from Italy. The foreigner in Algeria was later flown back to Italy which has recorded over 1700 cases so far.
Senegal’s Minister of Health, Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr announced in a press statement that the disease was recorded in a French national who arrived in the country last week.

He added that the man has had contact with his wife and children, but is currently in isolation.
The novel Coronavirus was first recorded in Wuhan, China and is said to have originated from a wet market in the region. Since it was first recorded, there have been more than 89 thousand cases of the virus globally.
Outside China, the disease has been reported in 66 countries and all continents except Antarctica. Worldwide, the disease has killed more than three thousand people.
