Resource Book On Domestic & Gender Based Violence Launched In Lagos State.

It is noteworthy that the state Government have more than recognized the evil of gender based violence for what it is but have taken practical steps to eradicate the menace from their environment. Earlier, we published the help line to reach the DSVRT and now Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos State Governor has released a book that helps to fight this crime.

Speaking at a dinner hosted in honor of the DSVRT, Mr. Tunji Bello who represented the Governor launched the book Overcoming Sexual and Gender Based Violence: The Lagos State Experience and he explained that the book is aimed at helping perpetrators and victims alike.

The coordinator of DSVRT, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, also lauded the importance of the book.

This should serve as a wake-up call for other states in the country to stop turning the blind eye when issues of domestic and gender related violence are raised and step-up to end this evil.
