The sergeant is said to have perpetuated the act with three other people.
The public relations officer of the Command, SP Magaji Majiya, disclosed this while parading the suspects before newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
According to a NAN report, the suspects are Sani Danjuma, a dismissed police sergeant of the Nigeria Police attached to Jigawa police Command, Nura Ahmed, Abdullahi Ahmed and Abubakar Uzairu.
Speaking on the development, Majiya stated that the state’s SARS received information on 18th March about the robbery and subsequently launched an investigation.
He says: “On March 18, at about 9.30 p.m an information was received from a good samaritan at Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) Kano that there was robbery”.
“Danjuma, the police sergeant who was a guard in the residence of the deputy governor of Jigawa State’s guest house while in service and the three other suspects criminally conspired and carried out the robbery operation,” he said.
