The Enugu State Police Command has called on residents who were victims of the alleged gang rape at a concert by hip hop star, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour, to come forward to testify.
The command said no victim had yet to report to any of its divisions, saying it was not aware of any rape case during the musical show which held at the Michael Okpara Square.
It is noted that some attendees at the event claimed that they witnessed some ladies being sexually attacked by hoodlums during the show, which was reportedly organised by the state government with security mobilized to the venue. The participants said the policemen and bouncers at the event could not do anything to stop the sexual attacks because of the crowd.
The state police public relations officer, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement says the police have heard of the report attempted gang rape and is investigating.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Amaraizu says investigation has not established any case of rape. He notes that many policemen were deployed at the concert venue to provide security, saying the claim was doubtful.
“The report (of the gang rapes), which is based on a Twitter message on the social media, is unfounded and we cannot operate on speculations as a law enforcement agency.
“Till now, nobody has come forward to report any case of sexual assault or molestation and rape to the command,” he says.
