Ozo Biography: Early life and education
Ozo is an Igbo man from Imo State, one of the South-East states Nigeria. His full name is Ozoemena Joseph Chukwuon and he was born on 4th August 1992. He comes from a family that takes a lot of pride in higher educational attainment.
From pictures that have been going around on the internet, it appears that he has three sisters. However, he is the only son of his parents. His father is a medical doctor while his mother is a professor at one of the country’s higher institutions.
His sisters are also all graduates with two of them having medical degrees while one is a practising lawyer. While we do not have information on which primary and secondary school he attended, we know that Ozo is also highly educated.
He obtained a first-class bachelor’s degree in economics and cybernetics from the Riga Technical University, in Latvia. This is a European institution that is popular for its high quality and internationally competitive education.
After his graduation in 2015/2016, Ozoemena Joseph Chukwu continued his education at the same institute. This time, he majored in business and financial management and eventually got a master’s degree as well.
Besides, he seemed to have completed another professional course at the Turiba University, Latvia, obtaining a certification in strategic communication for leadership, communication and media studies in 2017.
Chukwu has always been passionate about football. During his time in Latvia, he underwent training at a professional football scouts association. He then became a professional football scout after he concluded his training with the association.
Career
With his range of educational qualifications, it is not surprising that Chukwu has worked in different industries before he entered the BBNaija TV reality show. In 2012, he became the chief operating officer at Stemay CCXL3, a clothing company. He left the company in 2015.
He worked as a high school teacher and football coach between November 2014 and October 2015. During this time, he was also working for the Federal Government of Nigeria and Rangers Football Club.
When Ozo moved to Latvia to further his education, he became a player scout for FS METTA/Latvijas Universitate (University of Latvia), a Latvian football team. He worked as a scout for two months in 2017. Then, he went into the IT space.
He was the customer relations specialist at Intelligent Systems from August 2017 to December 2017. Soon, he returned to the world of sports in 2018, working as a football academy analyst for the Latvian Football Federation.
On his return to Nigeria in January 2019, he first worked as a human resource/compliance manager at Dezern Nigeria Limited, a marketing, industrial services, chemical and lubricant company. He then took up the role of a sports analyst at Dream FM, a broadcast radio station based in Enugu State.

After working at Dream FM between April and May 2019, Ozo landed a gig with the UEFA Federation. This is the administrative body for association football, futsal and beach soccer in Europe. Speaking with Africa Magic about this, he says:
“It was a job I took great pride in and enjoyed doing.”

Ozoemena Chukwu was part of the 20 housemates that entered the Big Brother Naija 2020 house on the first day of the reality show. His good looks and apparent humility endeared him to viewers allowing him to build a fanbase. Many of his fellow housemates also appear to like him.
Ozo and Nengi
Fans of the show rooted for Ozo and Nengi, another housemate in the BBN season 5 edition, to start a relationship. On his part, he clearly declared his interest in a romantic relationship with Nengi. But she, on the other hand, was reluctant.
She once claimed that a relationship between them was unlikely because he was ‘too peaceful’. Yet, many of their fans want them to end up together. They have even coined a name for the pair ‘OZONE’ (a moniker from the first letters of OZO and Nengi).

Besides his feelings for Nengi, he also claimed that he likes another housemate named Dorathy. But he says he only wants to be friends with her.
