Nigerian actress Nse Ikpe-Etim self-isolates after retuning from the UK

Nigerian actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, has taken to her Instagram page to announce that she was self- isolating because she just returned from the UK – one of the countries with high confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

The ministry of health in Nigeria has been very particular about its warnings of self-isolation and social distancing, especially to Nigerians who have just returned from countries that are regarded as threat countries for the coronavirus.

Recently, The Lagos State government, through its ministry of health, confirmed another four new cases of Coronavirus, after the five cases that were announced Wednesday by the Federal Ministry of Health bringing the total number of cases to 12.

Nigerians seem to have been complying with this directive so far as the government is putting plans in place to ensure that its citizens remain safe and to curb the spread of the virus as much as possible.

According to the actress, she is self-isolating and is in contact with health officials. She reported no symptoms.

“Yesterday, in the morning, I returned to Lagos from the UK – one of the countries listed as a COVID-19 hotspot by the Federal Ministry of Health.

“I am presently in Self-Isolation according to the directives of the NCDC and in constant communication with them. So far, I have not displayed any symptoms of the Coronavirus.

“However, I will maintain my isolation and keep people at bay till the coast is clear. I hope everyone is responsible enough to do the same. Avoid public gatherings as much as you can. Wash your hands and sanitize them often. Stock up your home with essentials, while being considerate to others so they too can and most importantly, don’t panic. This too shall pass.
