Britain-based YouGov has released the result of its annual survey of the Most Admired People in the World. The survey names Michelle Obama as the World’s Most Admired Woman and Bill Gates as the World’s Most Admired Man
This year’s survey expanded to cover the views of people in 41 countries (the most ever) and had 42,000 people engaged in the study. They were asked the questions “Who do you truly admire?” and “Who do you most admire” during the survey period between March to June.
The results of the survey by country (of the surveyed countries) can be found on YouGove’s websites.
However, the global results saw former US first lady Michelle Obama, talk show host and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey and actress and UN ambassador Angelina Jolie as the three most admired women in the world per survey.
Michelle Obama took the top spot with a total of 8.8% of votes of those survey, knocking out Angelina Jolie who headed the list last year. Oprah pulled in 6.9% of the votes to move up to the second position while Angelina Jolie’s 6.8% votes pushed her down to the third position. All three women are Americans. The first non-American on the list is British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth, who maintains her previous number four position with 5.9% votes from among those surveyed.
