Latest update on arrested EndSARS protester Eromz

The latest update on arrested EndSARS protester Eromz, by lawyer Tola, shows some inconsistencies in the Nigerian Police statements.

The arrest of an EndSARS protester, Eromosele or Eromz for short, has been causing an uproar on social media among the Nigerian youths and even among international audiences. This has made the #FreeEromz to start getting tractions.

According to prominent EndSARS promoter, FK or @fkabudu, as her Twitter name and username says, Eromosele has been detained since 7th November 2020.

Update on Eroms:

One of the legal representatives of the police brutality protesters, Tola, revealed that they “submitted several bail applications” for Eromz’ release.

However, “Police has stalled or dragged out all (legal & political) requests for his release, without formally arraigning him (so that the court can decide on his release)” he tweeted.

On 15th November 2020, Tola mentioned that the police was moving Eromz back to Lagos State after he had been detained in Abuja for nearly eight days. Additionally, he said that while he was moved from Panti in Lagos State to Yaba Magistrate court in the state, his lawyers on record were not “duly informed.”.

Then on 16th November 2020, Tola tweeted that the Police were asking the court to hold him “pending their investigation.” The lawyer further said:

1. Eromosele was not taken to Abuja and back to lagos, despite clear evidence(our lawyers were with him in Abuja & video below of his return to Lagos last night)

The debacle has led to many Nigerians calling out the police. Tweeting with the #FreeEromz hashtag, some are also lamenting the state of the judiciary in the country.
