Early life
Katie Pavlich was born Catherine Merri Pavlich on 10 July 1988 in Arizona, USA, to a family of Croatian, German, Irish, and Australian descents. She grew up in the mountains of Arizona and developed a passion for outdoor activities including, river rafting, mountain climbing, and hunting.
Pavlich is the older of two children, and she grew up with a younger brother. Her grandfather, John Pavlich, fought in the second world war. During this time, he met Katie’s grandmother, and they married each other. Pavlich’s conservative beliefs were gotten through this side of her family.
When she was younger, Pavlich attended Sinagua High School, where she played basketball and volleyball. It was during her time in high school that she decided to become a journalist.
After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the University of Arizona, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, graduating in 2010. She took to Twitter to discuss it, quoting a fellow Twitter user who wrote, “Looks like she has changed her appearance”. She didn’t confirm or deny it, but she noted that she gets comments about her changed appearance every time she is on TV, which can be construed as a denial.
Gun ownership
Katie Pavlich has written about her gun ownership as well as her stance on gun laws in America. In an essay that she wrote in 2016, she wrote that her father gave her the first firearm that she ever owned when she was 10.
He had ‘Katie P.’ engraved on the strap of the gun, and only let her use it when it was time to go hunting.

Career
After graduating from the University of Arizona with her degree in journalism, Pavlich moved to Washington D.C. to start her career.
She soon became the news editor for Townhall.com, then she rose to become a contributing editor at Townhall magazine, which is the print version of the publication. The website featured about 80 columns, most of them written by Fox News contributors.
Pavlich regularly contributed to Fox News, hoping to become a higher-ranked staff member. Her efforts paid off as she eventually rose to become a Fox News contributor.
