A house help who was captured on camera assaulting and feeding vomit to his employer’s 15-month-old baby has been charged to a court in Kenya.
Cecile Ngumbo, 35, was accused of subjecting the child to cruel punishment at Ngara estate in Nairobi on 14 March 2018. The court heard that Ngumbo’s employer had installed CCTV cameras to monitor her house and she was shocked when she saw Ngumbo mistreating the baby.
Police records indicate that Ngumbo was seen feeding the baby with vomit, kicking and pinching her. The employer confronted her and later reported the matter to the police.

In court, Ngumbo pleaded that she was the breadwinner for her three children and asked for mercy. The matter was adjourned until 4th April 2014.
