Early life
Hassie Harrison was born on 20 March 1990 in Dallas, Texas. Although her mother is known as Laurie Harrison, a woman quite fond of the arts, almost nothing about her father is known to the public. Hassie is not an only child, however, as she has three sisters.

Her mother was deeply involved with the Dallas Children’s Theatre, so naturally, this was how Harrison discovered her love for acting. During an interview with Pop Culturalist, she said:
“My mom was very involved in the Dallas Children’s theatre, so growing up, I was always taking classes and going to plays. I think I always knew this was going to be a part of my life’s path. My love of film also brought me here. I saw all these actors living it up, and I wanted in on the fun!”
Harrison was quite brilliant as a child. She completed high school at the age of 15 then set off to college to study Business and Archaeology.
After that, the young actress travelled to Europe to continue her education. She lived in Copenhagen while studying European Cinema, which was an experience that shaped her, both as an actress and as a human being.
To further strengthen her acting skills, she took more acting classes and attended a drama school run by the gifted American acting coach Ivana Chubbuck.
She didn’t stop there, improving her skills by attending Upright Citizens Brigade, an American improvisation group that teaches long-form improvisations, sketch, writing, and even directing.
Harrison also studied under Lesly Kahn, who uses a non-technique approach to acting, which is highly beneficial to those who want to go into comedic and on-camera work.

Career
Hassie Harrison launched her official acting career in 2011 with the comedy-drama “Hart of Dixie”. She played Lucy’s character and didn’t last very long on the show, appearing in only three episodes.

She didn’t let that phase her, though, because very few actors even appear in up to three episodes in their first acting role. After starring in “Hart of Dixie”, she buckled up and got o work, going for auditions to appear in more films.
After that, she went for a few years without appearing in any film, finally nabbing roles in “Dementia” and the horror film “Southbound” in the same year. In “Dementia”, she played the role of Shelby Lockhart.
She again went for a few years without appearing in any films before appearing in 2017’s “Fat Camp”, which is about a fitness enthusiast locked out of home by his mother who then ends up working at a weight loss camp.
The following year, she featured in the science fiction film “A-X-L”, about a boy who befriends a robotic combat dog then gets in trouble when its owners come for it.
Harrison began her rise to fame after appearing as the main character Mazie Wales in the 2019 film “The Iron Orchard” directed by Ty Roberts. Her current boyfriend, Austin Nichols, played the role of Dent Paxton in the film.
