Hannah told WNC magazine that she discovered musical theatre when she was 10 years old after her mother signed her up for a junior production of the super-popular play “Annie”. This happened at the Ashville Community, and it is where Kepple got her start in acting.
Afterwards, she was cast as Dorothy in a stage play of “The Wizard of Oz” at the Flat Rock Theater. After appearing in these two plays, she realised what fun acting is, and she decided to sign up with the Screen Artists co-op, a local acting organisation that acts as both a training centre and talent agency.
At the Screen Artists co-op, she started training with the co-founder, Jon Menick, who she credits as her biggest influence. Menick coached Kepple through her teenage years, helping her become a much better actress, and even probably helping her to become the entertainer that she is now.
Hannah Kepple has spoken about how her background as a stage actress and ballet dancer helps her to be a better actress. “Coming from a musical theater background, you’re taught that everything is very big and everything is jazz hands…classes taught me how much can be shown in your eyes, or an expression, or the way you carry yourself,” she said.
