The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has reconciled the Channels TV reporter and alleged wife-beater Pius Angbo with his wife, Ifeyinwa Angbo, a medical doctor.
A couple of days ago, Ifeanyinwa, the wife of Nigerian reporter Pius Angbo who works for Channels tv, accused him of battery in a viral video.
In the viral video, she showed her battered face, and stated that her husband tried to strangle her, even though she just had a baby four weeks ago through caesarean section.
In a response to the viral video, Channels TV station waded into the wife battery report against its Benue reporter, Pius Angbo, saying it will take appropriate action after the probe.
Governor Ortom’s intervention came amid a vow by Channels TV to probe the wife battery claim.
According to PM News, Ortom called the couple and advised them to always settle their differences, without resorting to violence.
He urged the couple to foster a stronger union that will serve as a model to others.
Mr Pius Angbo also said he has apologised to his wife over the assault and he seeks the forgiveness of the entire womenfolk.
Ifeanyinwa said she has accepted her husband’s apology and forgiven him. She said the couple needs prayers to grow stronger in love and nurture their four kids to maturity.
She thanked Governor Ortom for taking time out of his very tight schedule to settle their conflict.
