Google is said to launch new laptop, smaller Google Home, this fall

Google is set to launch not just two new Google Pixel phones at a hardware event this fall, but also an all-new Pixel-branded Chromebook and a smaller version of its Google Home smart speaker.

 

Android Police reports, however, that the specifics are not yet known for the laptop, but speculations are live that the laptop may be a Pixel Chromebook, which will make it a consumer-focused product rather than one geared towards developers like the  Google’s Bison Pixel. As such, pricing might just be well more affordable than the Bison.

 

Google Home also has a smaller version planned for if the information by Android Police is anything to go by. No information is available on the pricing of and dimension specifics, and the news out believes that “Given the massive popularity of Amazon’s Echo Dot, a smaller, cheaper version of Google Home only makes sense.”

 

 

According to CNBC News, however, “Google has put a lot of emphasis on its Siri competitor, known as Google Assistant, that’s available on Android phones and on the Google Home. It allows users to stream music, cast movies to a nearby Chromecast-enabled TV, check traffic and more. Sacrifices will likely need to be made in order to keep the cost of a smaller device down. In the Amazon Echo Dot, that meant lower quality speakers.”
