Do you remember this school rhyme that goes: ‘There are five magic words, there five magic words, there are five magic words that I know - please, excuse me, sorry, thank you, and the last one, pardon me.’
Many of us probably chant this song without much thought to its import much less using them, leading sadly to a slow demise to their usage. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We need to remind ourselves that these words play a very important role in our daily communications and lives. These words can mend a broken heart, fix a rift, save a broken relationship and foster a stronger one.
The magic words are pleasant to hear and can us help us come across as being kind, caring, respectful, loving, and considerate to mention some of the few good character reputations. Just by uttering one or two words, you can have a very special effect on someone. No wonder they are called Magic Words.
Here are some little highlights of these great words.
1. Please
This is a word we would use when making a request. By using this word, it can make the person you are talking to do as you have asked of him/her. This word also teaches that things aren’t obtained if you ask for them disrespectfully.
2. Excuse me
This word connotes politeness and decency. This is another way of getting someone to do what you want, beckon on somebody, or get them to gently go off your way for you. You don’t have to be harsh, just utter the word Excuse me.
