As human beings, we always want to feel loved and accepted. However, often times, this feeling transcends into worrying so much about what other people think of you. Just so you know, this kind of excessive worrying can have a negative effect on your life.
The truth is that, people’s perception about you should not be the basis for your everyday living. It shouldn’t be what will keep you or stagnate you in life. What matters in life is what you think about yourself. If you think you are a failure, then that’s who you are. If you think of yourself as a winner, a champion, a victor, etc, then that’s who you are.
I am not saying that people can’t give you advice or counsel. What I am saying is, you should know what you want and go for it. You are the one who knows what’s best for you. Receive all their opinions, but be careful to fish out constructive criticism from ones that just want to be Lord over your life.
Do you know that other people’s thoughts can become a serious burden to you? You will keep thinking, and thinking, and thinking, and thinking. Finally, when you become so obsessed with other people’s opinion of you, you forget your own. You will just loose out on yourself.
