Following the news of the coronavirus hitting Nigeria, which the Ministry of Health confirmed via a statement signed by the health minister, Dr Osagie Ehanire, Nigerians have had various reactions to the news.
Whilst some are panicking, others are seeing this as a medium to swindle money off their fellow citizens like BBN’s Ifu Ennada reported.
After the announcement that an Italian national who works in Nigerithe tested positive to the Coronavirus in Nigeria, the Minister of Health has enjoined Nigerians not to panic and has specified preventive measures to take. One of which is to wash hands with soap under running water and the use of alcohol-based sanitizers.
Another measure to take is to make use of face masks while in a public space and this is where Nigerians have decided to swindle money from their fellow citizens. According to the ex-reality star, as at this morning in Lekki, the face masks were being sold at NGN 10,000 which she found ridiculous as its normal price is NGN 750.
Now, the price has actually gone a bit higher than that on the Mainland of Lagos State as a sister to the star sent her a video of the face masks being sold at NGN 15,000.
