A couple from Doncaster have allegedly died after hugging one another while jumping in front of a train.

The couple, Melissa Wood, 27, and Christopher Linley, 34, were both pronounced dead shortly after 8 pm on Tuesday at a railway station in South Yorkshire, England.

Eyewitnesses to the tragedy told a local newspaper that the pair embraced and jumped from Platform One at the same time.

Although the incident is not being treated as suspicious, officers would like to establish their movements that evening.
