Coronavirus Nigeria update: 745 new cases confirmed in Nigeria| Get the scoop

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has released the most recent Coronavirus numbers and they are just as dire as you think.

According to the NCDC’s update, 745 new cases were recorded on Thursday, 18 June to take the total to 18480 total number of people who have been infected with the virus.

Of that incredible number, 6307 people have been discharged while 475 people have tragically succumbed to the virus.

Taking to their official Twitter handle for the nightly Coronavirus updates, the NCDC revealed the breakdown of the cases across the country.

Lagos has the highest number of infections with a total of 280 while Oyo State follows with 103 cases. The NCDC wrote:

745 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-280; Oyo-103; Ebonyi-72; FCT-60; Imo-46; Edo-34; Delta-33; Rivers-25; Kaduna-23; Ondo-16; Katsina-12; Kano-10; Bauchi-8; Borno-7; Kwara-5; Gombe-4; Sokoto-2; Enugu-2; Yobe-1; Osun-1; Nasarawa-1; 18,480 confirmed; 6,307 discharged; 475 deaths”

In a follow-up tweet, the NCDC shared a breakdown of the total number of infections in each state. As usual, Lagos still has the highest number of Coronavirus cases with close behind. Cross River has not recorded a single case of the deadly pandemic.
