Coronavirus Nigeria update: 490 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has released an update on the number of Coronavirus-infected people in Nigeria.

These updates, which are released on Twitter everyday detail the total number of confirmed cases as well as a breakdown of the number of cases by state.

According to the update released in the late hours of Sunday, 28 June, an additional 490 cases have been confirmed in Nigeria, taking the total to 24567.

So far, 9007 people have been discharged. Unfortunately, 565 people have succumbed to the virus, including the recent and very public death of former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

118 new cases were discovered in Lagos, 84 in Delta, 68 in Ebonyi, 56 in FCT, 39 in Plateau, 29 in Edo, 21 in Katsina, 13 in Imo,  12 in Ondo, 11 in Adamawa, 8 in Osun, 8 in Ogun, 6 in Rivers, 5 in Kano, 3 in Enugu, 3 in Bauchi, 3 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kogi, 1 in Oyo, 1 in Bayelsa.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 24,567 with 9,007 people discharged and 565 deaths.
