Coronavirus Nigeria update: 162 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Nigeria

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shared the latest Coronavirus update. 

The updates, which are shared on their verified Twitter account help Nigerians to accurately monitor the spread of the virus within the country.

As it stands, the cases are currently on the decline but the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has revealed that this is because of low testing.

According to the update, an additional 162 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across several states in Nigeria. Lagos State recorded 53 new cases, Gombe State recorded 21 new cases while Oyo State recorded 19 new cases.

Plateau, which has recorded the highest new cases for the past few days recorded only 10 new cases.

The total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria is now 54,905. 42,922 people have been successfully treated and discharged from isolation centres.

1,054 people also died from Coronavirus-related deaths. The full report reads:
