The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed that 23 new infections of the Coronavirus have been discovered in Nigeria with the total number of cases in the country rising to 174.
This is the highest number reported at any one time.
Earlier Monday morning, the NCDC had reported 12 cases so a total of 35 cases were reported for 1 April 2020, the highest increase of Coronavirus in Nigeria in any given day.
“Twenty-three new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos, 7 in the FCT, 5 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Bauchi State.
“As at 08:00 pm 1st April, there are 174 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths, ” NCDC reveals on their Twitter account.
Note that this is also the first time that the viral infection has been reported for Akwa Ibom State.
