The latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC) show that 790 new cases of coronavirus in infections were recorded in Nigeria on Wednesday, 1 July 2020, bringing the total number of infections to 26,284.
The NCDC made this known during their nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria.
According to the statistics released by the Centre, there’s a surge of infections in Delta State, which recorded 166 cases surpassing Lagos State, the disease epicentre in Nigeria, which recorded 120 cases.
Enugu State, FCT, Abuja and Edo States recorded 66, 65 and 60 cases respectively.
Othe states that recorded high infections are Ogun (43), Kano (41), Kaduna (39), Ondo (33), Rivers (32), Bayelsa (29), Katsina (21), Imo (20), Kwara (18), Oyo (111) and Abia (10).
Meanwhile, Benue State recorded six cases, Gombe State four cases, while Yobe, Bauchi and Kebbi states recorded two cases respectively.
