Chief Ntufam Eta who is the National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the All Progressive Congress has said that the President deserves to be given an automatic ticket in 2019.
He first decried the trend of calling someone ‘who supports a candidate’ after the candidates name, like; Buharists and so on. Though he had been a staunch supporter of Atiku during the 2015 APC primaries, he switched sides to Buhari after the later emerged victorious in the elections. Speaking in an interview with The Nation, he said that ‘due to sterling qualities of the President and the work he has done’ the entire party may be willing to let him run again in 2019, unopposed in the primaries. Chief Ntufam said that he would advise Atiku that instead of contesting with Buhari, he should side with him to support him. He also said that the proper handling of the IPOB, Boko Haram and other threats to National Security by the Government has seen to it that peace has been preserved.
