Breaking! Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo summoned to appear before Abuja High Court

The federal high court sitting in Abuja has served Biodun Fatoyinbo, senior pastor at the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), a summon document to make an appearance within 14 days, TheCable reports.

According to the TheCable the court summon is dated 6 September and reads:

“You are hereby commanded that within fourteen (14) days after the service of this writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service you do cause an appearance to be entered for you, in an action of Mrs Busola Dakolo; and take notice that in default the claimant may proceed, and judgement may be given in your absence.

“An order of this honourable court directing the defendant to publish a clearly worded apology to the claimant on the front page of at least two (2) national newspaper and two national televisions for seven days running consecutively.

“An order of this honourable court directing the defendant to address a personal letter of apology to the claimant, showing honest remorse for his misdeeds.”

It would be recalled that Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer, who is married to singer Timi Dakolo, had back in June accused the COZA senior pastor of raping on two occasions in 2002 when she was a teenager.

The accusations led to protest that culminated in Fatoyinbo temporarily stepping down as a pastor of COZA, although he would later take up to the altar again about a month after. Police also got involved amidst accusations of intimidation by the law enforcement, with Busola claiming she signed an invitation to appear before the police at a gunpoint.

The summon for Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo to appear before the court is the latest development in a case, which has propelled any other women to come out with their own stories of being sexually assaulted by men.
