The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has been spotted at the Presidential Villa Friday morning.
The Minister arrived 11:33 am this morning and went straight to the New Banquet Hall, for a scheduled meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vanguard reported. He was wearing Kachikwu a dark navy blue suit with striped tie and was escorted by the President’s Personal Assistant.

Speculations are rife that the meeting may not be unconnected with the rift between the Minister and the Group Managing Director, GMD, of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru. The minister had accused Baru of insubordination and wanting in transparency in matters related to the handling of contracts for NNPC. Certainly, weighty accusations, given that the Buhari-led government preaches transparency and due process.
