British prime minister, Boris Johnson, last Monday, was taken into the intensive care unit after his COVID-19 symptoms worsened. However, he seems to be gaining victory over the COVID-19 pandemic in his personal battle against the virus.

According to Daily Mail UK, encouraging news that emerged from St Thomas’ Hospital last night revealed how close the prime minister had been to death, but he is now walking, watching films, and even reading his beloved childhood Tintin books in bed

When Mr Johnson first began self-isolating with the disease on 27 March, he had a stripped-back workload but continued taking his red box and steering the government’s crisis response.

One of his first acknowledgements that the energy-sapping disease was taking its toll came on 2 April, the day before his seven-day isolation period ended, during the daily 9.15 am morning coronavirus meeting.

It is indeed great news that the prime minister is recuperating.
