April was born in Vallejo, California. Not much is known about her parents, family background, and childhood. It is, however, known that she relocated with her family to Manteca, California, as a child. There, she studied at a secondary school named East Union High School.

“Doom Patrol” is an American TV series based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name. The web series was premiered on DC Universe on 15 February 2019. April stars as Rita Farr (Elasti-Girl), an Olympic swimming gold medalist turned Hollywood actress who later becomes Elasti-Girl, a member of the Doom Patrol.
Rita was exposed to unusual volcanic gases while shooting a film in Africa.
