According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Amazon stock climbed to a record high yesterday, 27 August to take Jeff Bezos net worth to $200 billion.
He is not the only one, however, as his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott also saw her net worth increase so much that she surged in the ‘Richest women’ lists, now sitting behind L’Oreal SA heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers.
Meanwhile, the same happened to Tesla’s Elon Musk. In a similar manner, Tesla’s shares appreciated so much that Elon Musk has now become a centibillionaire with a net worth of $101 billion.

Despite the global pandemic in 2020, the world’s richest people saw an increase in their net worth this year. A total of $809 billion has been earned by billionaires this year, which is a 14% increase just this year alone.
Meanwhile, politicians have reacted to the increase, with former presidential hopeful, Bernie Sanders sharing a statement on Twitter.
“We cannot continue to allow billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk to become obscenely rich while millions of Americans face eviction, hunger and economic desperation,” Sanders in a statement on Wednesday, 26 August. “It’s time to fundamentally change our national priorities.”
