In the latest coronavirus in Nigeria update, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that 176 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Nigeria on Saturday, 16th May 2020.
This brings to total, 5,621 coronavirus cases in Nigeria.
176 people have also died of Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus while 1,472 people have recovered and been sent home from isolation centres across the states. The number of active cases was 3,973.
Announcing the latest data during its coronavirus update, the NCDC gave a breakdown of the new cases across the states. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 95 while Oyo came second with 31 new cases.
Other states that recorded new cases are: FCT Abuja (11), Niger (8), Borno (8), Jigawa(6), Kaduna (4), Anambra (3), Edo (2), Rivers (2), Nasarawa (2), Bauchi (2), Benue (1) and Zamfara(1).
