Stephanie Coker’s husband arraign for fraud; to remain in prison until bail conditions is met


David Olumide Aderinokun, a property developer, was on Wednesday arraigned in a magistrate’s court, Igbosere, Lagos Island.

 

Aderinokun, is married to media personality Stephanie Coker, the couple got married on August 12 in a destination wedding held in Greece.

Aderinokun is a suspect for alleged conspiracy, forgery and stealing of parcels of land estimated at 2678.068 square metres in Lekki Peninsula.

He was alleged to have traded under the name of Davade Properties and conspired with others, now at large, in February 2016 to obtain money under false pretences, according to The Cable.

The property developer was also said to have forged a Deed of Assignment to allegedly defraud unsuspecting members of the public. Aderinokun reportedly fraudulently obtained N18m from one Jumoke Fola-Alade on the pretext that he was the owner of the said property.

He was arraigned alongside one Abdul-Wakil Balogun, a worker of the New Town Development Authority (NTDA), Lagos state, on another eight counts.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The presiding chief magistrate, Olufolake Oshin, granted them bail in the sum of N10m with two sureties in like sum.  However, the suspects are to remain in Kirikiri prisons till they meet their bail conditions.

The case was adjourned until February 2, 2018.
