A pastor of the Omega Power Ministry Port Harcourt has allegedly rejected a gift of Rolls Royce presented to him on his 44th birthday
The announcement was made on the official Facebook page of the church and reads that the gift was made to Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere by Divine distributors of OPM and that the proceeds (we assume the car would be sold) will be donated to charity.
“Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere OPM rejects Rolls Royce birthday gift from Divine distributors of OPM, instead decides to use the money of the ROLLS ROYCE to open more OPM Free schools. Currently, OPM church operates 7 free schools which accommodate children of widows, orphans and less privileged”, the Facebook post reads.
Ordinarily, such an act of charity shouldn’t be news, however, a lot of Nigerians see pastors as avaricious focusing on accumulating worldly wealth rather than the spiritual one they’re propagating for followers. On that basis, one can say that the development is a welcomed one and one, hopefully, that will be emulated by other pastors.
Meanwhile, comments about the gesture have all been positive with many praising the pastor for his charity.
