Portugal’s head coach, Santos, has compared his team captain to Porto’s famous wine “Port” at a press conference after his performance against Morrocco.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is like a Port wine, he changes as he ages,” said Santos. “He’s constantly evolving, unlike regular players he’s always evolving.
“He won’t be doing the same thing in two or three years and he’s not doing what he did four or five years ago. He knows himself well and knows what he needs to do.”
The success or detriment of Portugal largely depends on Ronaldo’s performance at the world cup as he seems to be the only one capable of finding the back of the net on the team.

Santos has said that although he is pleased with the results of their games the team will have to step up regarding their overall performance.
“I’m not happy about my team’s game,” he said. “This is a World Cup and we have a good team, but we have to grow.”
“We were good defensively, but we need more and we have to play better than today. We have to change things, such as controlling the game more.
