The American actor and model was born Cameron Riley Monaghan on 16 August 1993 in Santa Monica, California, United States. He was an only child to a single parent, his mother, Diane Monaghan. She worked as an insurance claims specialist, and raised him all by herself. There are no details on who his father is, but his mother’s ancestry includes Polish and Irish.
Shortly after Cameron’s birth, Diane moved out of California and settled in Boca Raton, Florida. Cameron attended Addison Mizner Elementary School and was part of the school’s drama team. He was also homeschooled for his entire high school days.

Cameron Monaghan was a very outgoing child, and it helped his mother quickly identify what he could be. As a child, Cameron had wanted to become an actor. When he was three years old, his mother sent pictures of him to modelling agencies, and he appeared on the cover of his first catalogue at the age of five.
