Vanessa filed a paperwork in Manhattan Supreme Court seeking an uncontested divorce on Thursday.
The statement says:
“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways. We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have 5 beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.”
The development follows a report from Page Six yesterday that the couple were living apart, and that Trump Jr’s frequent travel schedule and, perhaps, a change in personality had driven a wedge in the marriage.
The pair also recently made headlines when a package of white powder was mailed to their residence in New York City. Ms Trump, who was the first to open the package, was rushed to the hospital as a precaution. The content was later deemed nonhazardous and was said to contain white corn flour.
