UK power couple David and Victoria Beckham‘s relationship has been the subject of media scrutiny for over twenty years despite the couple continuously insisting on their unbreakable bond.
Barely a few weeks after the couple graced the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the rumors of a divorce shot through the roof again even as far as bookies hosting before eventually suspending bets.
Well, the rumors were quelled almost instantly as their shared rep announced the opposite, the couple chose to continue as friends and co-parents and went on to slam reports that the pair were unhappy.
The spokeswoman said back then in June 2018 that there was no statement due nor a divorce announcement as it appears it all was fake social media news claiming it was “bizarre and embarrassing”.
The pair have had to defend their union an astounding number of times en route to commemorating their impressive 22nd wedding anniversary in the summer.
Victoria told British Vogue at the time their family posed for the cover that for the last 20 years; ‘people have been making things up about their relationship.’
However, the power couple who have four children Brooklyn, 22, and Romeo, 18, and Cruz, 16, and daughter Harper, 9 have learned to ignore the nonsense. The pair have always put in a great deal of effort just to maintain a balanced partnership and also ensured to prioritize their relationship.

Victoria explained in an interview with Elle UK that her husband and herself have mutual respect for each other and understand that they are very busy people regardless they put their phones down, and sometimes just talk.
The Spice Girls star who later became an award-winning designer and her soccer pro husband declared that they’re just as infatuated as when they fell in love with each other 23 years ago. For that reason alone, they have always managed to prove their detractors wrong as it seems a sure way of drawing people together.
Victoria in a 2017 letter written to her younger self published in British Vogue said, “In relationships, people will throw obstacles in your way, and you either maneuver around them or you trip up.”
It would seem she discovered a valuable lesson in choosing to leave the obstacles behind as she believes even when their wants aren’t the same thing, the support they show for each other will ensure they always stick together and grow together.
She’s a firm believer in “being stronger together”, something she’s learned over the two decades of being in love with her husband.
After a late match in 1996 match, one glimpse of Victoria in her Spice Girls‘ PVC catsuit while they performed caught David’s attention and, at that moment, he turned to his Manchester United teammate Gary Neville telling him that instant he had found who he was going to marry, pointing at Victoria.
It even took a few meetings before he could summon the courage to speak to her.
A week after he missed an opportunity to introduce himself despite her manager, Simon Fuller, arranging an introduction, he mustered up the courage and got her phone number which he penned on the back of a London-to-Manchester plane ticket he still has today.
Victoria also saw a lot of similarities between them and in no time the pair were courting, although privately.
This was because her manager, Simon Fuller, will sound a note of warning saying, “Don’t let anyone see you out together or you’ll get hounded,” she explained in Vogue.
David and Victoria welcomed their first son, Brooklyn, on March 4, 1999, and got hitched four months later at an Irish castle with Neville, the teammate David first confided in, serving as best man.
Both couples were also doing pretty incredibly well in their careers at the time and not long, welcomed their second son, Romeo, on Sept. 1, 2002.
The power couple seemed untouchable until they were not.
After David and his assistant, Rebecca Loos were spotted at a Madrid nightclub in September 2003, tabloids in Britain ran riot with stories of his marriage coming to an end.
